Updates

Good morning! Some may have noticed that I took a longer break from blogging than announced. One reason is that I haven’t been reading as many books lately; much of my free reading time is spent on newspapers or magazines. (I have read and finished one book recently, but I’m still trying to decide if I’ll write a review.) So for these reasons, I’m going to continue my hiatus and just pop in whenever I have a review!

My other update is that Danger in Detroit has been published through a company other than KDP (which is what we originally published it through) and is now available through some ebook retailers other than Amazon! Click here for the updated list of retailers. My brother and I hope to paperback publish our books through this same company, but the print option is still in beta.

Thank you all for sticking around through my break! I hope you are doing well and reading some great books! What have you been reading lately?

Been missing seeing you around, Leona, but glad you’re doing what you have to do πŸ™‚ As for what I’ve been reading, that is a very long list because #universitybreak, haha.

Oh, Draft2Digital is what someone on the King’s Daughter’s Writing Camp suggested to me. I had made an account on their a while ago, but I forgot about it. It does look like a way I might publish since I wouldn’t have to rig it to someone else’s PayPal… I’m going to have to look into actually publishing my Providence Wyatt stories through them.
Anyway, enough rambling. πŸ™‚ I actually haven’t been reading too much lately. I’m currently reading anything missionary and stewardship related, but I haven’t put any books on hold for a long time.

Nice! Has the person who recommended D2D to you before published through them? I think I just found it on my own, so it would be cool to know of another author who has worked with D2D before. πŸ˜‰
Ooh, that sounds cool! What are some of your favorite missionary stories? I enjoy reading those. And what do you mean by stewardship books, if you don’t mind? πŸ™‚

I’m not sure; I think she may had but I can’t remember. Or maybe she knew someone who had used it…
Hm, that’s hard. I really enjoy Gladys Aylward, Hudson Taylor (Moody publishers have good books on both those missionaries), and Richard Wurmbrand (his story is sad though). Stewardship books probably wasn’t the best wording, but that was all I could think of at that moment. I meant books on money. I’ve read all of Dave Ramsey’s books (I will say his beliefs are a little different than mine, some seem a bit self-help, and he uses a few words I wouldn’t have used, but I do like the debt-free living advice), and I have read some of Larry Burkett’s books as well (though most of his are on money and marriage/family, so I haven’t read as many).
Hope you enjoy the long comment. πŸ™‚

Neat! I don’t know much about Richard Wurmbrand… did he start Voice of the Martyrs? I think I may have heard something about him in a sermon recently. The books on money sound interesting– I’m all for living debt-free! Thanks for your comment! πŸ˜‰

          • Lilly says:

Yep, he started VoM. I think VoM came out with a new book about Richard Wurmbrand, but I’m not sure how good it is. Glad you enjoyed the long comment. πŸ™‚

I’ve missed your reviews, Leona! What company are you and your brother publishing your book through? (I’m looking for something other than Amazon, since I’m trying to boycott them.)

Thanks, Lilly! We are using Draft2Digital. So far, it seems to be a good company! One thing I like is that they make our book available for some common online libraries to purchase, although I don’t think any online library has yet. πŸ˜‰ They have a referral program, so if you’re interested, you can click here: https://www.draft2digital.com/greatbooks . (If you sign up, I will get 10% of Draft2Digital’s cut from your sales for the first two years, but that doesn’t affect how much you make.)
Have you read any good books lately?
